Children Of the River
If this happened I would probably try and leave. I would try to leave as early as possible because I would want to leave before things got worse. If I had to go somewhere I would probably try to leave the country on a airplane, train, or boat and go somewhere like Ireland becasue that is where my family came from a long time ago, so I know once I got there I know I could do something.
Well first I would probably be really scared. I would probably leave with the people but I would be really sad becasue I left behind my parents and friends, though I would be scared I would have faith that I would see them again. Once I was on the plane I would probably be really scared because I have no idea where I am going. I would hope I would go somewhere were they speak English because I don't know any other language. If I had to guess where I would be going I would probably guess somewhere in Asia or Africa.
I would be really scared once I found out where I was. The first thing I would do is try to get to a place where I could try to call home or watch something that tells me what is going on back home. The other thing I would have to do is try to find a government building that might be able to help me with food, shelter, money, and education until I could do it on my own. I think my daily life would definitely change. Even though I do know a few people I would still have to start a new school and slowly adapt to the daily life of the new country. It would be hard and I would probably worry about my family a lot but once I had the chance to try and contact what was left of my family and see if I could get them over with me and away from the horrible place they are in.

Genocide
I know Genocide is the mass murder of a certain type of people like African Americans or Jewish. One thing I don't know about Genocide is what causes people to do it. I can only think of one Genocide that happened for the last 100 years and that would be the holocaust.

Citation, valid sources, and commas sentences :)
Citation:
Title:Caring For The Mentally Ill
Author: Patricia Gottlieb Shapiro
Publication Date: 1982
Pages Used: 71-80
Publishier: Franklin Watts An Impact Book
*To cite sources you have to get information like author, title, publication date and publisher, but if you use a website you have to get the URL and if you use a book you have to get the pages used.
*You know the correct format because you can look at the beginning or ending in of a book or article and they will have a small section with most of the information you need.
Valid Sources:
I would say this source is not reliable because there is no real evidence or background information that shows the information they are talking about is true. Also a lot of times you can go to the bottom of the page and it may tell you that it is not a actual real thing.
Comma's sentences
1. When I went to the store I bought cheese, eggs, and milk.
2. Margret, do you know her?
3. Because she went to bed late last night, she woke up late the next morning.
4. Cullen, a scruffy dog, went outside and rolled around the yard.
5. I like apple pie, but I like pumpkin pie better.

7. I frolicked through the bright, flowery meadow.

Defining Valid, Reliable, and Accurate- Hope Garrison
Valid: Something that is reliable to what you are researching on.
Reliable: Something you are confident in if you need to use it.
Accurate: When some is correct for example when you find one fact and keep on finding the same fact on more then one website it most likely means it's accurate.
One source I am using is a book. Good things about a book is the author get's facts out of studies or things that are known to be true. The only down fall from books maybe that they are out dated for example the book I am using was written in 1982, so some of the information may be out dated.

Research Step 1
In the last two day I have done some research in English and History. In English I came up with my thesis and focused my topic on the Justice if someone has a mental health problem. In History I started to look up books and articles that could give me an idea on what it is like to take care of someone with mental health problems and how they may act and feel. So far I like the topic I choose, I find it very interesting and see that my point of view is very different then others.

Research questions and answers
1. When I hear research I think of when you have a certain topic you are looking for more information about. Also when I hear research I think of something you would have to go online or look in books for.
2. A research project I have down in the past was about Anne Frank. I had to write a paper about her life and what struggles she went through. I got all the research from the many book that were written about her and the internet.
3. Steps I would take when researching is first have a topic I need to research, then I would come up with questions or certain areas I wanted to learn more about, after that I would do the actual research and make sure I take notes on the articles I am reading, finally after I have all my information I would put it together for one final project or paper.
4. Some negative things may be that you get assigned a topic that is really hard to research and not many people know about it. Also it can take a lot of time to research to make sure you get all the information you need. Some positives about it may be that you get a topic you already know information about so once you start the process you already know some of the information.

Why Should your parents allow you to go for you lisence.
Every kid growing up looks forward to getting at the age where they can get there drivers license. That is possible at age 16. Some parents don't want to let there kids get their license at that age but there are many good reasons on why they should. If the kid got there license then the parents wouldn't have to take their kid anywhere. Another reason is that it would teach the kid responsibility. Finally it would come in handy if the parent didn't feel like going to going somewhere the kid could go out and get it for you. I think it's a good idea for parents to let there children get there license because they are now young adults and need to learn knew things they will always use, like driving.

New Model
One thing that stood out to me in the video is how calm they acted when they disagreed with one another. I think that if they were in a regular juvenile center they would get very angry over the littlest things at each other and no one would step in and say you guys need to work it out. So when they do have someone there to talk to them I think it shows them violence isn't always the answer. That you can take a second calm down and talk calm to the person and work things out.

Healing and Change
"People change in two ways-with slow persistent pressure, or with a single and sudden traumatic experience. That's why people often change so much when they have a near-death experience. I believe something significant happened to Cole on the island". Edwin
Healing can happen many ways. Like the quote says you can heal in two ways. Sometimes it depends on culture. Like in some countries they may not give you the option if you want to change/heal they make you. In life healing can take place in life also. For example if you are always doing something and you want to stop but don't it may take a experience good or bad to change you.
Totems-Hope Garrison
If I had to pick a totem I would pick the cat. I would pick the cat because the characteristics of the cat reminds me of myself. It says that they are mystery, guardianship and independent. I think I am all of these things. I see myself as an independent person. For example I would be fine if my parents left me home alone for a long period and they would not have to worry about me, because I am independent. Another characteristic of the cat which reminds me of myself is mystery. I would say I am mysterious because sometimes people don't know what I am doing or saying.
